WordPress 4.4 was launched by WordPress today, adding a breadth of new features to to “make your site more connected and responsive”. WordPress is a content management system (CMS) that currently powers more than 25 percent of websites. Version 4.4 has been nicknamed “Clifford”, in honour of jazz trumpeted Clifford Brown.
The WordPress 4.4 update is accompanied by a new theme called Twenty Sixteen. The Twenty Sixteen theme is described as a “modern take on a classic design blog” and is an excellent lightweight theme for blogs that is responsive on all devices and loads super fast.
However, the more exciting part for Peak Websites and their clients is the introduction of responsive images. Site loading speeds are going to see a dramatic improvement as your WordPress site is now smarter and displays appropriate image sizes on any device.
We cannot wait to see what features WordPress will implement next as they continue to develop the world’s leading CMS.
